Doing Business in a Sustainable Way is the New Normal
The Social Entrepreneurship Hub Ghana (SE-Hub), in partnership with A Rocha Ghana through its Businesses in Environmental Stewardship Network (BESNet), and with support from the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Ghana and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), organised a workshop/seminar in Sekondi-Takoradi to promote sustainable business practices among local enterprises.
The engagement, themed “Doing Business in a Sustainable Way is the New Normal,” aimed to strengthen the capacity of businesses to align with Ghana’s environmental standards and integrate green approaches into their operations. The sessions introduced participants to key compliance requirements, environmental assessment methodologies, and practical tools to develop internal sustainability protocols.
Through training delivered by the EPA, entrepreneurs gained knowledge on assessing their environmental impacts, enabling them to implement internal compliance regimes and contribute positively to local environmental stewardship. Businesses were encouraged to be drivers of sustainability in the Sekondi-Takoradi Municipality.
The workshop equipped over 40 local entrepreneurs in Sekondi-Takoradi with practical knowledge on environmental compliance and sustainable business practices, strengthening their capacity to integrate green standards into daily operations.
